Cardiology

The Cardiology department provides comprehensive services at both St Luke’s Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary.

We deal with a range of adult heart disease such as chest pain, hypertension, palpitations, abnormal heart rhythms, blackouts, shortness of breath, heart failure, and infections of heart valves.

The Unit consists of a 6 bedded Coronary Care Unit and Cardiology step-down ward, and a new, state of the art Cardiac Catheter laboratory and Day Case Unit.

We are committed to meeting the needs of our patients, their families and our staff. In return we offer a 6 week induction program, in-house training and preceptorship period. We are keen to offer a flexible working arrangement for those who have previously felt their home circumstances prevented them from working in a hospital environment.

If you’re considering a role within this department, previous experience of this speciality is not essential, a bespoke training programme will be offered to all new staff.
